Workshops
We had gorgeous weather for the last Garden to Vase workshop of the season in September, and I thoroughly enjoyed hosting the final Cut Flower Growing day of the year in October. The main focus was planting bulbs (a bulb lasagne in particular) and learning how best to prepare ranunculus and anemone corms for optimum success. There was also plenty of transplanting of annuals to do and, as always, lots for attendees to take home. I also squeezed in a floral themed hen party in early October. Finally, after I said adieu to the fresh flowers, it was time to greet the dried flowers with open arms. A wonderful day of crafting was had by all at the Dried Flower Workshops in early November. Both groups weaved willow wreaths before adorning them with an array of wonderfully colourful dried flowers and seed heads all grown, cut, dried and stored during the summer in readiness for my autumn/winter season. I’ve also been spending many an evening packing up dried flower wreath making kits (not to be confused with Christmas wreaths). These went down a storm last year as presents and craft projects and were posted all around the country. This year’s are flying out the door, thanks to my new ecommerce shop. LINK
