Seed to Vase Course

This weekend the 2022 Seed to Vase course students will be meeting here at CCF HQ for the fifth and penultimate time. Ten lovely, enthusiastic ladies all doing the course for different reasons from a busy lawyer forcing herself to have some “me” time, to a novice gardener with a blank canvas to work with, to a young teacher using some of the skills we learn with her pupils. Great company and great fun - or is it the coffee and Lillie B’s delicious bakes that they’re coming for? 2023 dates will be available soon but in the meantime I have a waiting list for the keenos.

No sooner do we come to the end of seed sowing for this year than it’s time to think about sowing biennials for flowering from April 2023. I’ll be sowing my stalwarts of honesty, hesperis, dianthus and digitalis in the next few days. It’s a no brainer in my book; without biennials the winter seems so much longer!
