As one chapter ends another begins

Due to the passing of a remarkable woman and Monarch, it seemed appropriate to delay posting this Autumn journal entry for a few weeks. The remarkable dedication and service of Queen Elizabeth II has rightly been celebrated and documented and she won’t be forgotten.  What a fabulous personal funeral wreath from King Charles, full of British flowers and foliage from the royal homes and full of symbolism and most importantly with no floral foam (a bit like this one I made in the spring). It also seems poignant to me that the Queen’s passing coincides with the season’s end and the need to start making plans for the future.  Sowing,  planting and gardening  helps us to overcome sadness or grief and to look forward to new beginnings and a fresh start.  This is one of the reasons that growing flowers and plants will always be part of what I do and why I love it so much.

In this journal entry  I reflect on some summer highlights including the launch of my brand spanking new website courtesy of Vicki at Blumango Creative with some super new brand photos by Jenny Stewart Photography.   I’ll also be sharing what flowers fared well and not so well during the hot summer and how I’m already well on my way to my garden preparations for 2023. Finally, as it’s bulb planting time. I’m sharing some of my top tips on spring bulbs.
